Waipu Village to Waipu Cove

One of our favourite ways to experience Waipu.
Starting from Waipu Village, follow the Waipu Cove Trail as it winds through peaceful farmland and open coastal countryside towards one of Northland’s most beautiful beaches.
When you reach Waipu Cove, park up your bike and enjoy some time by the ocean, wander the beach, stop for something to eat or simply soak up the view before riding the trail back to Waipu.
The mostly off-road trail makes this a relaxed and scenic ride, perfect for couples, friends and families wanting to explore a little more of the area without having to jump in the car.
Waipu Village along Uretiti Beach to Ruakaka Surf Club

This ride takes you from Waipu Village out to Uretiti Beach, along the coastline towards Ruakākā Beach — a beautiful, extended stretch of sand with wide-open ocean views and plenty of space to cruise. If you love the idea of riding along the beach, then this ride is for you.
Good to know: This route includes some on-road riding and two bridge crossings, so we recommend it for riders who are confident and comfortable riding alongside traffic. Beach riding is tide dependent, so be sure to check the tides before setting off.
